How do I send copies of emails with full headers?
How do I send copies of emails with full headers?
Solution
When reporting email issues, often, we will ask you to supply a copy of the email in question complete with headers. This is different from plain forwarding because some email systems do not send us the complete information we need in to help us pin point the problem.
Here's how to send us emails with complete headers.
On Outlook Express
Select the email in question
Right click, select properties
On the new window, select Details tab, then click on the Message Source button at the bottom
A new popup will display your email in plain text. Copy and paste all that into a text file like Notepad.
On Thunderbird
Find and select the email in question. In the toolbar, click View, Message Source
The emails and headers will display on a new window. Click File Save Page As.
Enter a name for the file and save as .txt
